Our name says it all!
The Carrot Company has been in the carrot business since 1995 and is a major carrot washing, grading, handling and packing facility with full accreditation.
The growing and sourcing of carrots – from specialised carrot growers –is monitored from the pre-planting stage right through to harvesting to give the best results possible in order to produce the right product to meet both export orders and domestic market requirements.
All carrots supplied to The Carrot Company are sourced from growers who are registered as members of our approved suppliers program.
Fresh carrots are harvested daily:
- Washed in a brush washer, which gives the appearance of a polished carrot
- Cooled on the washing line by our Hrydo Cooler
- Sized and graded according to customers' requirements and specifications
- Cooled carrots are pre-packed in a purpose built, totally refrigerated processing area, using latest technology packing equipment
- Stored in THERMFRESH facilities.
We work with our customers seeking new and innovative ways to present carrots to the market, whilst recognising the importance of cost efficiency, continuity of supply, and flexibility.
We operate with rigorously enforced quality control including:
- Separate / Designated ‘Dirty’ and ‘Clean’ carrot processing areas
- Product inspection conducted in accordance with established specifications
- Raw materials handling
- Processing
- Cleaning routines
- Temperature testing
